Sooner or later, emitting planet-
warming greenhouse gases will no
longer be free. Legislation imposing
a price on burning fossil fuels is
inevitable. Liz Minchin, Dr Donna Green
and Larissa Waters (Senator elect)
discuss the options of a cap-and-trade
system, or outright tax on fossil fuels.

in Ghana. It means ‘come
dance’ and is a social dance

All Star Jam Party
The All Star Jam Party is to be hosted
by the Summerland Band who will
‘drive the bus’ for the big blues
fnale. They will be joined throughout
the show by some fantastic festival
performers, gathered for an impromptu
jam session and moments of musical
madness. Featuring the likes of Rob
Longstaff, Peter Steel, JB Lewis, the
blues production crew, and more.

In the evening the tents of Penny
Arcade metamorphose into crepuscular
installation spaces where the patterns
of new visual syntaxes are explored.
Artists Duke Albada, Kimberley Bianca,
Linda Dennis, Lightn Up, Paula Payne,
the pianoBoat project, Velvet Pesu,
Corrie Wright and Tamara Kirby,
manipulate the languages of light and
shadow, image and sound to transform
worlds within worlds.

Ancient and Gothic Fiddles
According to the old Mongolian stories,
the horse-head fddle (morin khuur)
is imbued with magic in the hands of
fne players. Here the morin khuur,
the erhu from China, the Persian
kamenche and various 10th -15th
century European medieval fddles
(derived from the Byzantine lira)
are all in the hands of fne players.

Morris Dance Workshop
Learn the ancient ritualistic Cotswold
style Morris dance and harken back to
the days of dancing around standing
stones as the sun appears on the edge
of the horizon.

festival, The Club is composed of
players moving around Josh Bennett

world of famenco guitar, dispelling

‘smoke ‘n mirror’ tricks along the
